Vanilla apple crumble with almond crumble

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g apples (Boskop)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • ½ lemon(s), juice
  • Butter for the mold
  • 150 g flour
  • 100 g almonds, ground
  • 75 g brown sugar
  • 125 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Wonderfully fruity

Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Peel, quarter, core, and dice the apples. Mix with sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon juice and spread in a buttered baking dish. For the crumble, knead the flour with ground almonds, sugar, and butter and rub between your palms until crumbly. Spread over the apples and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool to lukewarm, and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
