Vanilla quark balls

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g flour
  • 400 g sugar
  • some sugar for the edges
  • 500 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 liter vegetable fat
  • 10 ml vanilla milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy and the sugar is dissolved. Sift the baking powder and flour and add them to the egg mixture in three batches. Add the quark and vanilla milk and fold in gently. Do not overmix. Heat the fat in a saucepan until bubbles form. Using 2 tablespoons, form small balls and deep-fry in the hot fat. Cool on a wire rack, then roll in the sugar.
