Vegan nut cream with dates

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 120 g nuts, e.g. hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts or almonds, etc.
  • 80 g pitted dates
  • 20 g cocoa, slightly defatted
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 50 ml water, approx., depending on the desired consistency

The specified amount makes 1 screw-top jar of nut spread. Soak the dates in water. Meanwhile, puree the nuts in a blender. Drain the dates in a sieve and then add them to the nut butter. Add the cocoa powder and salt and blend well until a smooth paste forms. Gradually add the water, stirring frequently and adding more if necessary, until the desired creamy consistency is reached. I use about 50 ml of water. Then pour the nut spread into a clean screw-top jar, tightly seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Use within a week.
