a Belgian waffle iron is a sufficient but not a necessary condition

Prepare the pudding according to the package instructions using 500 ml of milk. Then let it cool until the waffles are ready. For the waffles, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Cream the butter with 75 g of sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt. Add the egg yolks and beat until fluffy. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then add alternately with the remaining 250 ml of milk and mix. Then stir in the mineral water. Finally, fold in the beaten egg whites. Bake waffles in batches in a Belgian waffle iron. Split the finished waffles lengthwise. Boil the sour cherries with their juice and thicken with flour if necessary. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Stack everything in a casserole dish or large square cake dish as follows: waffles, cherries, waffles, pudding, waffles, chocolate. Add a little more powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy and fast for the rest of the day. Not very healthy, but very tasty.
