Waffle cookies, waffle biscuits, broken hearts

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 80 g white sugar
  • 80 g brown sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp, leveled baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 g butter
  • some cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours

Add the ingredients one at a time to a large bowl and quickly knead by hand (or by mixer) until a dough forms. Shape into logs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Preheat waffle iron to medium temperature and lightly grease if necessary. Cut the logs into 0.8-1.0 cm wide slices and place them in the center of a heart. Close the waffle iron and press down for a few seconds. Bake the cookies until golden brown and place on a wire rack to cool. Store in a cookie tin. I got about 110 small cookies from the batter.
