Waffle Recipe with Quark: A Delicious Alternative

Waffles are juicy if you use quark in the recipe. In addition, numerous savory variants can be conjured up from the simple basic recipe. We show you how it works.

Recipe for waffles with cottage cheese

With our basic recipe, you can conjure up fluffy quark waffles.

  1. Beat three eggs, and 125g melted butter with 100g sugar until fluffy.
  2. In another bowl, mix 300 g low-fat quark with 125 ml milk.
  3. Mix 250 g flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and a packet of vanilla sugar into the egg and butter mixture.
  4. Then add the quark mixture and mix everything thoroughly. If the dough is too stiff, a little milk will suffice.
  5. Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes, then you can bake the quark waffles in the waffle iron as usual.

Waffles with a difference: With herb quark

Quark and herbs – that also goes well with waffles.

  • You can make savory herb waffles with quarks.
  • To do this, omit the sugar and vanilla sugar from the basic recipe.
  • Mix fresh, finely chopped herbs of your choice into the quark mixture. Parsley and chives, for example, or cress taste delicious.
  • The waffles get even more flavor if you also add small cubes of cucumber. Radishes or finely chopped spring onions are also good.
  • These herb quark waffles are also easily prepared in a waffle iron.
