Waffles with honey

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 4 small eggs or 3 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 375 ml water, lukewarm

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

approx. 14 waffles

Makes enough for about 14 waffles. Mix the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar with a hand mixer. Then add the eggs, honey, and salt and beat until fluffy. Sift the flour with the baking powder and add to the batter. While the mixer is still switched off, mix with the sticks. Add about half the water and switch on the mixer. Gradually add the remaining water to make a smooth batter. If the batter is a bit tough/firm, just add a little more water and mix again. I use a standard heart-shaped waffle iron, which I don’t grease. But you can, of course. They taste great dusted with powdered sugar, but you can also choose lots of other toppings: I personally think hot cherries go very well with them.
