Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g walnuts, ground
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 150 g sugar
  • 175 g butter
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 100 g walnuts, halves or pieces
  • 1 egg white

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Cream together the butter, sugar, and egg. Stir in the ground walnuts. Mix the baking powder with the flour, and gradually stir into the egg and nut mixture. Chill the dough for 1 to 2 hours. Form the dough into small balls, about the size of an egg yolk, and place them on a baking sheet. Briefly dip the walnut halves in egg white, then press them into the balls (the egg white prevents them from falling off later). Bake at approximately 180°C (convection oven) for approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Be careful, they will brown quickly.
