Walnut Taler
The perfect walnut taler recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 125 g Ground walnuts
- 250 g Flour type 405
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 250 g Ice cold butter
- 100 g Food starch
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 1,5 tbsp Cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp Milk
- Grind the walnuts, roast them in a pan without fat and let them cool on a plate.
- Mix with the flour, baking powder, powdered sugar, starch and vanilla sugar. Cut the cold butter into flakes and add, quickly knead with 2 – 3 tablespoons of cold water to form a smooth dough.
- Mix cocoa and sugar on a large plate. Shape the dough into 4 rolls of approx. 4 cm in diameter, brush with milk and immediately roll in the sugar-cocoa mixture. Place in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 175 ° C. Cut the rolls of dough into about 0.5 cm thick slices and do not place them too close to a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake for about 10-15 minutes.
