What Things Should Not Be Washed Together

Many people wash things incorrectly, which is why they end up with ruined clothes – faded or with lint.

What you absolutely must not wash in a washing machine

There is a list of things that will lose their appearance and functionality if you think to put them in the machine:

Hats and baseball caps

The frame on which the visor is held up only appears to be stable. In fact, under the pressure of the drum in the machine, it can warp or break. You can avoid this if you wash such hats only by hand and do not wring out, and wait for the water to drain itself.

Orthopedic pillows and mattresses

Most likely, the active mode in the washing machine will shatter the orthopedic foam into small pieces. This will happen even faster if you forget to turn off the spin. In order to avoid this, read the label – some such products can not be washed at all, and others – only be by hand or dry cleaning.

Genuine leather clothing and shoes

Genuine leather does not tolerate machine action – creases or soapy streaks may appear. Leather shoes, more often than not, are bound with glue, which will lose their properties, and the shoes will fall apart. Wash leather shoes and clothing is best hand-washed or given to a dry cleaner.

Swimsuits and trunks

Bones and straps can pop out if they scroll in the drum of the washing machine. The fabric itself will also deteriorate – there will be cracks or the rich color will disappear. Such items should be cleaned only with warm water and hands.

Things with pet hair

Owners of cats and dogs know how difficult it is to wash clothes with fine lint. In the washing machine, they will be even dense in the structure of the fabric, moreover, the hair itself will clog the filters of the machine’s water pumps. Before putting such clothes in the washing machine, clean them from wool.

Items with fine accessories, sequins, or rhinestones

Items with small decorative elements on them can come off and deprive you of a unique piece of the closet. They also get caught in the water filters, and the washing machine quickly breaks down because of this. The same applies to embroidery – an aggressive washing mode will unravel the threads and ruin the pattern. The best option for washing such clothes will be the manual method.
