Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 liters of water
- 4 cubes of meat broth
- 1 large onion(s), chopped
- 1 bunch of soup vegetables (carrot, celery, leek and parsley)
- Salt
- pepper
- Caraway seeds
- 500 g pork belly
- 1 head of white cabbage, shredded
- 1 stalk(s) leek
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
First, take 2 liters of water and put it in a large pot along with the onion, salt, pepper, and caraway seeds. Boil the pork belly for 45 minutes. In the meantime, you have enough time to chop the cabbage and the remaining vegetables into small pieces. Once boiling, remove the pork belly and add the cabbage and the remaining ingredients to the broth. Then, cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes, so the cabbage still has some bite. If you like, you can dice the pork belly and add it back in.
