Ingredients for 9 servings:

  • 400 g flour (whole wheat flour)
  • 30 g yeast, fresh
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ liter of lukewarm water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

for 1 baking tray

1. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well. Crumble in the yeast and sprinkle over the sugar. Pour the water into the well and carefully mix the yeast with a little flour, the sugar, and the water. 2. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes. 3. Add the salt and melted butter (margarine). Mix everything into a smooth dough. Then cover and let it rise again in a warm place for 30 minutes. 4. Remove the risen dough from the bowl and knead vigorously on a floured surface. Tip: The specified amount of dough is enough for one baking sheet; half for a springform pan, pie dish, or quiche dish (24 or 26 cm).
