Winter Cucumber

The perfect winter cucumber recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 green Cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon Red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 half Diced onion
  • 2 Tablespoon 10% Condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoon Dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 Pinches Seasoned pepper
  • 3 Pinches Chilli flakes
  1. Wash the cucumber, peel it thinly and then slice it into very fine slices. Mix in all of the specified ingredients and cover and let steep for at least an hour. Then season again to taste and serve.
  2. This wintry cucumber tastes particularly good as an accompaniment to hearty fried potatoes. I added a garnished portion of onion meat in aspic to make the simple dish “round” (the onion meat in aspic was bought ready-made, however). That has to be the case when time is really tight – and we liked it!
