Wonnie's Antipasti Party – Feta

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g feta cheese
  • 500 ml oil
  • 1 small onion(s), finely chopped
  • 5 allspice seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 bell pepper(s), diced
  • e.g. chili flakes
  • n. B. Seasoning mix for salad, Greek style
  • n. B. spice mix (pizza seasoning)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with 3 different marinades

Dice the feta cheese. Pour half the oil into each of three jam jars. To the first jar, add the chili flakes and half of the diced bell peppers. To the second jar, add the pizza seasoning, the other half of the diced bell peppers, and half of the diced onions. To the third jar, add the Greek seasoning, allspice berries, bay leaves, and the remaining diced onions. Stir the contents of all three jars, each with its own spoon. Divide the feta cheese equally among the jars. Pour in the remaining oil and briefly turn upside down to mix well. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours. The longer the marinade, the tastier the feta cheese will be. You can also marinate mozzarella or Babybell cheese. Serve with baguette and grilled meat, or serve at an Italian buffet, for New Year’s Eve, birthdays, etc. Tip: Instead of chili flakes, you can use plenty of fresh chili peppers. Instead of Greek seasoning, you can use garlic and caraway, and instead of pizza seasoning, you can use Italian dried herbs with basil. Depending on the type used, the oil can be used for salad dressings or frying. It’s also great for marinating grilled meat.
