for 10 pieces

Mix the flour and dry yeast. Add the sugar, milk, and butter, then knead. Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Whisk the egg yolk and 1 tbsp of water. Knead the dough again and shape it into a log, then divide it into 10 equal pieces. Cut each piece of dough into a 14 cm log, then form 1 large and 1 small ball. Shape the large balls into ovals and cut a slit at one end. Brush all pieces with egg yolk. Roll the 14 cm logs into snail shapes and place them on baking paper. Place the cut balls on top as heads and pull them apart to form ears. Place the small balls on top as tails. Add the raisins for eyes and use 3 slivered almonds for whiskers.
