Zucchini Hot Dog

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 m.-large zucchini
  • 3 Vienna sausages
  • 3 slices of Edam cheese
  • 9 slices of breakfast bacon
  • Salt
  • little oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Cook the zucchini in a steamer or steamer basket until slightly tender. Let it cool, then halve and hollow out the filling. Lightly salt both halves. Place half of the cheese in the bottom half so that it overlaps the zucchini. Place a sausage on top and cover with the overlapping cheese. Cover with the other half of the zucchini and wrap with bacon. Brush an ovenproof dish with oil and bake the zucchini at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) top and bottom heat.
