3 Tips Against Nausea During Pregnancy: That Helps

There are a number of things you can do to prevent nausea during pregnancy. We have 3 tips to help you get rid of nausea.

What helps against nausea during pregnancy

Many women look forward to pregnancy, even if it brings some changes. Nausea and vomiting can occur, especially in the first few weeks. The culprit is the hormonal change, to which the body first has to adjust.

  • Have breakfast in bed: Put a thermos flask with tea and rusks on the bedside table in the evening.
Even a small snack right before bed can help relieve morning sickness.
  • Cola helps some pregnant women against nausea. Ice cold works wonders. Ask your partner to get you a small can from the fridge in the morning.
  • Change your diet: Eat many small meals during the day and generally avoid coffee drinks, fatty and spicy foods, and acidic foods.
  • Eat dry oatmeal during the day. It binds the stomach acid, after which your stomach calms down. Nausea often results from acidosis.
  • As an old household remedy, ginger belongs in the solution box, but not everyone likes the tuber. Also, try ginger tea. Two to three cups of ginger tea a day and ginger candies to take with you on the go can help.
  • Avoid smells: Cigarette smoke and other strong smells are very common triggers for nausea.

Prevent nausea

If you pay attention to a few things in your everyday life, nausea can be prevented.

  • Make sure you drink enough fluids. You should drink two liters a day in the form of diluted juice spritzers, still mineral water, and tea.
  • Avoid alcohol and acidic drinks like freshly squeezed orange juice.
  • Relax with the scent of lavender as often as possible and get plenty of exercise in the fresh air.
  • Make sure you get enough sleep and avoid any stress.
  • Don’t jerk out of bed. The morning starts slowly from now on. Sit on the edge of the bed for a while before getting up.
