Chocolate cake according to grandma's recipe

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g margarine
  • 400 g sugar
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 100 ml water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 350 g flour
  • possibly fruit, of your choice

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Bring the margarine, water, sugar, and cocoa to a boil while stirring. Measure out about 100 ml of the mixture and set aside for the icing. Let the rest cool. Once the mixture has cooled, add the eggs, flour, and baking powder and mix with a mixer for at least 5 minutes. Immediately transfer to a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes. Heat the reserved mixture, spread it over the cake, and garnish as desired. Tip: The cake also tastes great if you add fruit to the batter before baking. I tried it with canned pears, cherries, and pineapple.
