Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour type 550
  • 1 cube of yeast, 42 g
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs, M
  • 80 g butter, soft
  • possibly sesame and black cumin

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 40 minutes

for 10 – 12 rolls

Sift flour into a bowl and make a well in the bowl. Crumble the yeast into the well and add the sugar. Mix 4 tbsp of milk and 200ml of warm water together, pour into the well, stirring in the yeast. Cover and let rise for about 10 minutes. Add salt, 1 beaten egg and butter and knead everything well with the dough hook of a hand mixer for about 5 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. Place the dough on a floured surface, divide into 10-12 portions and roll into balls. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with baking paper and flatten them. Cover and let rise for about 45 minutes. Beat 1 egg with 2 tbsp of water and 2 tbsp of milk. Brush the balls with the mixture and sprinkle with sesame and caraway seeds if desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes (they’re done when they’re lightly browned). 234 kcal per serving.
