Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 75 g sugar
  • 75 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 cube of fresh yeast (42 g)
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing or see *

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Melt the butter and warm the milk. Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Combine all the ingredients to make a yeast dough and knead well. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes until it has doubled in size. Knead the dough again and divide it into 50g pieces. Form these pieces into approximately 8cm long rolls and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. The rolls should touch at the sides as they rise. Let rise for another 20 minutes. Brush the rolls with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for 20 to 25 minutes. * To avoid leftover egg whites, you can use one whole egg and one egg white instead of two whole eggs.
