Pear – red wine – jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 450 g pear(s), juicy
  • 250 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • 125 ml red wine
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of clove(s), powder
  • 1 pinch of allspice
  • 1 pinch of cardamom

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel the pears, quarter them, remove the cores, and cut them into very small cubes. Squeeze the lemon and let the pear cubes steep in a covered saucepan with the lemon juice and sugar overnight. The next day, add the wine, mix in the spices, and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to medium heat and simmer for 4 minutes. Test for set and pour the jam into hot, rinsed twist-off jars. Seal and turn upside down for 15 minutes. Then turn them upside down and let cool.
