Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g margarine or butter
  • 300 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 150 g almonds, ground
  • 125 g chocolate shavings
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp. clove powder
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Mix the flour, almonds, chocolate chips, baking powder, cinnamon, and cloves and fold into the mixture. Finally, add the milk. You can use less than 125 ml, but the batter should be nice and runny. Bake in a loaf pan at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 50-60 minutes. It’s best to do the skewer test. The skewer may still be slightly moist even after 60 minutes. This is because the cake isn’t bone dry on the inside, but light and airy. Tip: Can be eaten all year round, not just at Christmas. Simply omit the cloves to eliminate the Christmas flavor.
