Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 65 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 jar sour cherries
  • 1 pack of pudding powder, vanilla
  • 75 g butter
  • 750 g quark
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Quickly knead the dough ingredients (250g flour, 1 sachet of baking powder, 65g sugar, 1 egg, and 125g butter) and pour into a greased springform pan. Drain the cherries and reserve the juice. Mix 1 tablespoon of custard powder with 5 tablespoons of juice. Bring the remaining juice to a boil, add the mixed custard powder, and bring to a boil briefly while stirring. Add the cherries. Mix the cornstarch with a little water and stir into the cherries. Pour the cherry mixture onto the dough. Melt the butter and mix with the quark, sugar, eggs, and remaining custard powder. Pour the quark mixture onto the cherries. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 60 minutes. Whisk the egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of water, spread it on the cake, and bake for another 15-30 minutes. Let the cake cool completely in the pan, then remove from the pan.
