Marble cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g butter, soft
  • 270 g sugar
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 bottle of rum flavoring
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 5 eggs
  • 375 g wheat flour
  • 12 g baking powder
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 20 g cocoa powder
  • 20 g sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Beat the soft butter until smooth. Gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, rum flavoring, and salt, and beat until the mixture forms a smooth consistency. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir in a tablespoon at a time with the milk. Use only enough milk so that the batter falls heavily from a spoon. Pour 2/3 of the batter into a prepared marble cake pan. Mix the cocoa and sugar, stir in the milk, and fold it into the remaining batter. Spread the dark batter over the light batter and use a fork to spiral the batter through the layers. Bake the cake for about 60 minutes in a preheated oven at 190°C (top/bottom heat). If the top starts to get too dark, cover with a piece of aluminum foil halfway through baking. Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar.
