Wrap à la Kathi

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 wraps
  • 400 g minced meat of your choice
  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 500g tzatziki
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • Oil for frying
  • possibly tomato(s)
  • possibly olives
  • possibly onion(s)
  • possibly corn kernels, drained

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Fry the minced meat in a pan with hot oil and break it up into the smallest possible pieces. Turn the minced meat over occasionally until it is cooked through. Grate the cucumber into wafer-thin slices. Either cut the feta cheese into wafer-thin slices or crumble it very finely. Briefly heat the wraps as directed on the packaging (about 20 seconds in the microwave) to make them easier to roll later. Prepare the tzatziki. Spread about 2 tablespoons of tzatziki all over the top of each wrap. Then spread a good 3-4 tablespoons of minced meat on each wrap, along with the thin cucumber slices and feta cheese, if desired. To make the wraps easier to roll, don’t cover the edges of the filled wrap with too much topping. The rolled wrap will hold together best if only the last end of the wrap is spread with tzatziki, which helps it stick to the rolled wrap. Depending on your preference, you can either eat them immediately or roll them individually in aluminum foil and refrigerate them. They also taste great the next day, once they’ve “seized” a bit. If you like, you can also top the wrap with other ingredients—for example, tomatoes, olives, onions, corn, etc.
