Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 can of pears (approx. 460 g)
- 2 bags of mashed potato powder
- 400 ml milk (whole milk, 3.5%)
- 1 tsp, leveled salt
- n. B. water
- some butter
- 8 sausages (Wiener), cold

Drain the pear juice from the can into a measuring jug. Top up with water to about 800 ml (this is less liquid than usual, but the juicy pears will make up for it later). Briefly bring the water and juice mixture to a boil with the salt, then remove from the heat. Add the cold milk and then whisk the pear puree flakes into the liquid. Let it swell for a minute, then stir again. Now add the pears and puree until smooth with a hand blender. Be careful not to leave any large pear pieces. Serve with two cold Vienna sausages per serving. A truly delicious recipe from my childhood that I only know from my grandmother. Of course, you can also make the mashed potatoes from scratch and vary the recipe to your liking. But I like it best this way, even with the cold sausages. Tip: Use the sausages like spoons.
