Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 6 medium-sized onions (cut into rings)
- 40 g butter
- 40 g flour
- 1 ½ liters of meat broth
- salt and pepper
- 3 garlic cloves (crushed)

Sauté the onions in a pan with butter until translucent. Add the flour and fry the onions until golden brown. Then pour in the meat broth, season with pepper and salt, and let everything simmer briefly. A special use for this soup is recorded in legend: It is said that warriors who had suffered abdominal injuries were given onion soup. If the wound then smelled of onions, it was clear that the stomach or intestines were seriously injured, and any further treatment was useless.
