White cabbage, rice and minced meat casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg white cabbage
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 250 g rice
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Caraway seeds
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Cook the rice according to the package instructions and add about 1.5 teaspoons of salt to the cooking water. Slice the white cabbage into short, relatively fine strips using a knife or a slicer. Bring a little water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the chopped white cabbage and sauté for 5 minutes, until the cabbage is slightly translucent. Season the minced meat liberally with about 1.5-2 teaspoons of salt, pepper, caraway seeds, and a little nutmeg. Mix the rice, cabbage, and meat together well, transfer to a baking dish, and press firmly. Cover and bake in the oven at 175 degrees Celsius for about 1 hour.
