Potato and Kohlrabi Gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g potatoes
  • 400 g kohlrabi
  • salt and pepper
  • 20 g margarine
  • 20 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 3 tbsp cream
  • nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Broth, clear
  • 100 g cheese (Gouda)
  • 100 g ham (cooked ham)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the potatoes and kohlrabi, slice them, and layer them alternately in the baking dish. Season each layer with salt and pepper. Melt the butter, add the flour, and let it sweat. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Then add the cream, season with salt, broth, and nutmeg, and pour over the layered vegetables. Bake at 175°C for approximately 30 minutes. Sprinkle with the grated cheese and ham and finish cooking in the oven for another 20 minutes.
