The perfect apple strudel

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry
  • 5 m.-sized apples
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 100 g sultanas
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 tbsp, crushed cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • 1 small bottle(s) of rum flavoring

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet and preheat the oven to 200°C. Meanwhile, peel the apples and dice them into small cubes. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes, until the apples are slightly creamy and a little juice has been released. Spread the mixture in the center of the puff pastry, tuck in the sides, and press down gently to prevent leakage. Bake for 35 minutes, then heat the oven to 225°C for the last 10-15 minutes to ensure the strudel turns a beautiful golden brown.
