Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g spelt, coarsely ground
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 onion(s), diced
- 1 clove(s) garlic, crushed
- chives
- Parsley
- lovage
- Salt
- possibly flour or breadcrumbs
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
like from the medieval market, for 12 pieces
Barely cover the spelt with cold water and let it soak for about 4 hours. Drain off any excess water. Mix with the other ingredients, adding 1-2 tablespoons of flour or breadcrumbs to thicken it. Fry in small batches in a pan with oil until nicely browned. The lovage gives it a special flavor. I wouldn’t go without it. Delicious hot or cold.
