Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Toast the slices of toast until light yellow, then spread them all thinly with butter. Place one slice of cooked ham on each slice of toast. Make sure the ham slices don’t extend beyond the bread. You may need to cut them a little smaller. Variations: Hawaiian Toastie: Place a slice of pineapple on the bread. Helene Toastie: Top the bread with the pears. Tomato Toastie: Wash the tomato and cut out the green stem with a kitchen knife. Then slice the tomato and place it on two slices of toast. Mushroom Toastie: Slice the mushrooms and place them on the bread. Now cover all 12 slices of toast with a slice of cheese each and place the finished toasties on the baking tray. Bake at 150°C until the cheese has melted. Tip: These toasties can be prepared a few hours in advance. Store them on the tray in the oven with the fillings ready. You can bake them whenever you need them. If you want, you can decorate the toast with some pretty decorations. For example, you can create faces with strips of bell pepper or slices of radish. If you like, you can also add a fried egg to the tomato toast.
