Simple Strammer Max

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of farmhouse bread or similar bread
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slice(s) cheese, Gouda or Emmental
  • 4 eggs
  • some butter
  • possibly cucumber(s), pickles and pepper strips (from the jar)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Spread the bread slices thinly with butter and place a slice of ham on each slice. If you like, you can also add thinly sliced gherkins and a few strips of bell pepper to the ham. Top each slice with a slice of cheese! Place the sandwiches in the oven at around 150°C for 10-15 minutes. Bake until the cheese has melted slightly (be careful that the bread doesn’t get too dry). During this time, fry the eggs into fried eggs and place them on the toasted bread before serving. It tastes delicious and is quick to make. The topping with gherkins and strips of bell pepper is a matter of taste—but it makes the dish more moist!
