Minced meat penguins

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 onion(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 egg(s)
  • possibly breadcrumbs
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • Peppercorns, for the eyes
  • 100 g cream cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

for the children’s birthday, something for the eye, decoration for the buffet

Mix the minced meat, onion, spices, egg, and breadcrumbs together, then form 12-15 small meatballs into a mixture and fry. Cut approximately 1cm thick slices from the carrot. Cut a triangle out of each carrot slice (save this for later use as a beak). Place a carrot slice on each plate and insert a toothpick. Place two meatballs on top to form the penguin bodies. Insert the remaining carrot pieces into the penguin heads as beaks (if they are too thick, trim off a little more if necessary). Cut a vertical strip into each penguin’s belly with a knife and fill it with cream cheese. Finally, insert two peppercorns into each penguin’s head for eyes. Tip: You can also fill the penguin’s belly with vegetable strips instead of cream cheese. Cucumber or bell pepper strips, for example, work well for this.
