quick and easy

Thaw the pretzel sticks, cut a slit lengthwise down the middle, and pull them apart to form boats. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Mix the mustard and ketchup. Spread 1 tablespoon of the mustard-ketchup mixture on each boat. Place a sausage in the center of each boat. Slice the gherkins and arrange the slices on the boats to the right and left of the sausage. Then place a handful of cheese on each boat and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the pretzel boats are golden brown. Remove the boats from the oven, spread another 1 tablespoon of the mustard-ketchup mixture on each boat, and top each with a handful of fried onions. Serve the pretzel boats warm or cold.
