Waffles with chocolate pattern – not just for children

For the batter, melt both types of chocolate in a saucepan over a double boiler over low heat and let cool. Beat the margarine or butter with a mixer until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and vanilla sugar, stirring until the mixture forms a thick batter. Beat in each egg for about 30 seconds on high speed. Mix the flour with the baking powder and briefly stir in two portions, alternating with the milk, on medium speed. Divide the batter in half and stir the melted chocolate and cocoa powder into one half of the batter. For each waffle, add about 1 tablespoon of each batter in alternating dollops to the waffle iron (depending on the size of the waffle iron) and bake the waffles until all the batter is used up. Let the baked waffles cool and dust with powdered sugar. Makes about 8 round heart-shaped waffles.
