hearty Buchteln
Mix the dry ingredients for the dough in a bowl. Slowly add the water while stirring, then the oil. Knead with a mixer for at least 5 minutes – by hand for about 10 minutes. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes – at least until it has doubled in size. For the filling, you can use whatever ingredients you like best for a pizza. Here, I used salami, bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Chop everything into small pieces – into strips or cubes, whichever you prefer. Mix with tomato sauce. The filling shouldn’t be too runny. Divide the dough into about 15 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, flatten it, fill it with sauce, and seal it securely (!) by folding the sides towards the center. Place the balls tightly together in a baking dish greased with olive oil. Let rise again for about 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Brush the pizza dough with a little milk and sprinkle with Parmesan and oregano. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes. They should be golden brown. Serve warm. Accompany with a delicious salad.
