filling and energizing
The night before, pit the dates if necessary and cut into pieces. Place them in a bowl with the oats, milk, and a pinch of cinnamon and mix. Cover and let them soak in the refrigerator overnight. Tip: If using frozen fruit, also place it in a bowl and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, if using fresh fruit, peel the fruit of your choice and cut it into small cubes or slices (depending on the variety). Add the yogurt and quark to the soaked oats and mix well. Finally, stir in the fruit. Almost any fruit you like will do. Apples, bananas, pears, berries, grapes, mangoes, peaches, and frozen fruit are also possible. You can eat the oats as they are or top them with a topping of your choice. Tip: I like to use 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and raisins, but chocolate sprinkles also taste good. If you like them crunchy, you can also add nuts or a spoonful of your favorite muesli. Notes: The dates add a pleasant sweetness. If that’s not enough for you, you can also add maple syrup. If you’re in a hurry in the morning, you can cut the fruit the night before and store it in the refrigerator. Before stirring in the fruit, you can microwave the oat mixture for 1-2 minutes for a delicious warm meal. You can also omit the quark and use more yogurt instead. For a vegan version, you can also use plant-based milk and yogurt.
