Baked cauliflower

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cauliflower
  • 200 g breadcrumbs
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp, heaped thyme, fresh
  • 1 tbsp, heaped oregano, fresh
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g cheese, e.g. old Gouda

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Divide the cauliflower into florets. Add a little water to a pot, add salt, and steam the cauliflower florets for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, finely chop the onion and sauté in a little butter until lightly browned. Grate the cheese. Add the remaining butter to the onions and briefly fry with the fresh spices. Add the breadcrumbs and fry briefly. Be careful, they can burn quickly. Let cool slightly. Place the cauliflower florets in a baking dish, pour the breadcrumbs and cheese mixture over them, and place under the broiler in the oven for about 5 minutes. Serve with hollandaise sauce and boiled potatoes.
