Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 dl water
  • 5 dl apple juice, clear
  • 5 cm ginger, coarsely grated
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 5 tea bags (black tea)
  • 2 lemon(s), the juice
  • 500 g cane sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

as a gift or for yourself

Bring the water and apple juice to a boil in a pan with the ginger and cinnamon sticks, then simmer gently for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, cover, and let stand for 5 minutes. Add the tea and let it steep for another 5 minutes, strain, and return it to the pan. Add the lemon juice and sugar and bring to a boil. Pour the hot syrup into suitable washed and pre-warmed bottles, filling them just below the rim, seal, and let cool. The unopened syrup will keep for about 6 months if stored in a cool, dark place. Consume promptly after opening. It can also be drunk neat.
