Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 ml water
  • 300 g sugar
  • 100 g puree, pumpkin
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder, or one cinnamon stick
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ vanilla pod(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

aromatic, Christmassy coffee sweetener

Dissolve the sugar in water, add the spices and pumpkin puree. Heat, but do not allow to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Strain through a cheesecloth or a clean tea towel. Add one to two tablespoons per cup of coffee, depending on your taste. We recommend using a ripe, aromatic pumpkin. If you like, you can also make your own gingerbread spice. I think it tastes even better that way. Makes approximately 350 ml.
