Sweet Breakfast Bread to Get in Mood for Easter

The perfect sweet breakfast bread to get in mood for easter recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

to refine

  • Dry yeast
  • Sifted powdered sugar
  • Eggs (size M)
  • Milk 3.8 (lukewarm)
  • Liquid butter
  • Pistachios (not chopped)

For painting

  • Egg
  • Cream
  • Vanilla sugar
  1. Start by heating the oven to 30 degrees. I melt the butter in the microwave.
  2. In a mixing bowl (I’ll use the one from my Kitchen AID) put the flour and the dry yeast and mix (mix) them with the dough hook on the lowest setting. Then, with the machine running, they fill in the powdered sugar one after the other and then an egg. Now, after you have increased the speed of the machine (on level 4), add the 2nd egg and let the milk run in slowly. If these ingredients are well mixed, add the butter and set the machine on level 6 for 1 minute.
  3. Now take the dough knot from the dough hook and put the dough covered in the oven for 60 minutes and let it rest there.
  4. Shortly before the resting time is over, prepare two baking trays by lining them with baking paper. Sprinkle your work surface generously with flour. Now take the bowl out of the oven (do not switch the oven off) and let the dough slide onto the work surface. Now carefully roll the dough through, then mix in the pistachios. Shape rabbits, baskets, rolls or mini mares as you like. If they don’t use pistachios – that’s just as good.
  5. Distribute all of your cute little breakfast bites on the two baking trays and then put them in the oven for another 60 minutes to rise. 5 minutes before the time is up, set the oven to 180 degrees O / U heat and continue baking for 20 minutes.
  6. After the 20 minutes, coat the parts with the egg, which has been whisked according to the ingredients listed. Now swap the trays (bottom up … top down) and bake for another 10 minutes.
  7. Take the sweet breakfast bites from the tray and, if you like it the way I like it, brush with butter (shine). Now just put it in the bread basket and the Sunday breakfast can begin.
