Gratinated hake fillet

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g fish fillet(s) (hake fillet)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red, diced
  • 1 bell pepper(s), yellow, diced
  • 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 100 g cheese, grated (Emmental)
  • 100 g Parmesan, grated
  • Flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 65 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Clean, acidify, and season the fish fillets. Mix flour with salt. Pat the dry fillets first in flour and then in the beaten egg (with 2 tablespoons of water). Fry in about 40g of hot butter until golden brown. Place in a buttered, ovenproof dish. Briefly sauté the bell peppers in the butter, season, and spread over the fillets. Sprinkle the mixture first with the mixed cheese, then with breadcrumbs, and finally, add knobs of butter. Bake at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
