Spaghetti with ham and cheese sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • ½ onion(s), diced
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped or squeezed
  • olive oil
  • 50 g cooked ham, diced
  • 3 tbsp whipped cream
  • 8 cocktail tomatoes, quartered
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 tsp green pesto
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 3 slices of processed cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly white wine
  • 200 g spaghetti, possibly whole wheat

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the spaghetti al dente. Meanwhile, sauté the diced onion and garlic in olive oil and add the diced ham. Deglaze with cream and milk. Add the tomato quarters, pesto, and parsley and simmer briefly. Melt the cheese in the sauce and season with salt, pepper, and white wine, if desired. Mix the finished sauce with the drained pasta. Return the pot to the heat for another 3 minutes and reduce the sauce slightly, stirring constantly. Serve sprinkled with fresh parsley.
