Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 70 g apple syrup from the health food store
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125 g almond(s), chopped
  • 75 g chocolate (milk), grated
  • 100 g icing sugar for the glaze
  • 2 tbsp water, hot, for the glaze
  • 2 tbsp water for the dough

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Christmas pastries, similar to gingerbread

Combine eggs and 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl and beat until frothy. Gradually add brown sugar and continue beating until thick and creamy. Add applesauce, rum, spices, flour, baking powder, almonds, and grated milk chocolate. Mix everything well. Spread the batter with a knife, about 1 cm thick, onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) (180°C fan-assisted) for about 20 minutes. Mix the icing sugar with 2 tablespoons of hot water. Immediately cut the warm batter into pieces approximately 5 x 5 cm in size and glaze.
