Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g physalis
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), split
  • 1 bottle of vodka

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Twist the physalis from the blossom and cut it in half. Layer it with the brown sugar and the split vanilla pod in a sealable jar and pour over the vodka. Place in a bright but not sunny location and shake daily until the sugar dissolves. Let it steep for a total of 6-8 weeks, then strain through a sieve, bottle, and seal. Tip: The physalis from the alcohol tastes great with vanilla ice cream or with other fruit in jam.
