Lemon vodka

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 lemon(s), untreated
  • 1 bottle of vodka, 50% vol.
  • 200 g sugar
  • 250 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 14 days; Total time approx. 14 days 20 minutes

Thinly grate the lemon zest. Be careful not to grate any of the white parts, as this will make the vodka bitter. Pour half of the vodka into a glass container and let it steep for two weeks, stirring occasionally. After that, the mixture should be a nice yellow color. Boil 250 ml of water with 200 g of sugar until the sugar has dissolved and let it cool. Meanwhile, strain the vodka through a fine sieve. Mix the lemon vodka with the remaining vodka and the cooled sugar water, then pour into a bottle. Enjoy chilled. Tip: To avoid throwing away the lemons, you can use them to make lemonade.
