Blueberry Honey Julep

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g blueberries
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 g sugar
  • 4 sprigs of mint
  • e.g. crushed ice
  • 4 cl whiskey (bourbon whiskey)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 2 sprigs of mint
  • 4 cl syrup (blackberry mint syrup)
  • 1 sprig(s) mint

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

First, prepare the syrup. Place the blueberries, water, sugar, and mint in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Then simmer for about five minutes and then let it cool. Add the bourbon whiskey and honey to the shaker and stir until the honey has dissolved. Fill the shaker with ice, add the mint, lemon juice, and blueberry syrup, and shake well. Now add crushed ice to a highball glass and strain everything into it. Stir with a bar spoon. Add more crushed ice, fill the glass to the brim, and stir well. Garnish with a mint sprig.
