Finely dice the onions and sauté in 3 tablespoons of oil until translucent. Deglaze with tomatoes, water, and cream, and season with salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, and paprika. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes. Drain the pineapple and halve the ham. Brown the meat in batches in 3 tablespoons of oil for about 2 minutes on each side. Season with salt and pepper. Place the schnitzels close together in a roasting pan, top with the ham and pineapple, and pour the sauce evenly over them. Cover with aluminum foil and press it firmly around the baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven (electric oven 175°C, fan oven 150°C) for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. About 45 minutes before the end of the baking time, carefully remove the foil, grate the cheese, spread it on the pineapple, and finish baking.
