Spicy chicken strips that evoke memories of Hungarian cuisine

Lightly brown the chicken breast with the onion in oil or margarine. Add the mushrooms and bell pepper and sauté for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with sweet paprika and add ketchup. Season with salt and pepper. If desired, add a little chicken stock and simmer gently for about 10 minutes, until the juices thicken slightly. Meanwhile, stir the cream with a little flour until smooth. Thicken the shredded meat with the cream and flour mixture and let it marinate briefly. Serve with pasta, rice, spaetzle, or hash browns.
